THE PRESBYTERIAT IN SERVICE OF A COMMUNION IN LIGHT OF THE POST-COUNCIL TEACHINGS OF THE CHURCH.
Summary
Contemporary ecclesiology postulates: „the Church as communion might be more clearly understood and concretely incorporated into life” (The Final Report of the Extraordinary Synod). This idea should pervade all actions of presbyters and influence a new style of priesthood. This is confirmed both by post-council teaching of the Church and the teaching of the Church in Poland. It was particularly developed in a post-synodal exhortation Pastores Dabo Vobis (1992) in which John Paul II emphasised that „the ecclesiology of communion becomes decisive for understanding the identity of the priest, his essential dignity, and his vocation and mission”. Other documents of Magisterium Ecclesiae followed this direction. Three documents of the Congregation for the Clergy deserve special attention: Directory on the Ministry and Life of Priests (1994), a letter The Priest and the Third Christian Millennium, Teacher of the Word, Minister of the Sacraments and Leader of the Community (1999) and an instruction The Priest, Pastor and Leader of the Parish Community (2002). Among Polish documents there are two written by the Second Polish Plenary Synod that deserve special attention: Needs and Tasks of a New Evangelisation at the Break of the Second and the Third Christian Millennium and Priesthood and Consecrated Life as Community of Life and Ministry with Christ. The documents emphasise that a priest should always remember that he „sanctifies himself by his care for a community which had been entrusted to him. This care should be manifested in being with a community and in a community”. Therefore the synod suggests that „in nominating parish priests one should take into account not so much and not only seniority and achievements but practical pastoral skills, especially the ability of team-work and a social sensitivity”.

"Anthropology of genderism" in the light of "A Letter to the bishops of the Catholic Church on the collaboration of a man and a woman in the Church and the world"
Summary
The article is rooted in the need to raise awareness, especially among Christians, of dangers of a totalitarian imposition of gender ideology, assumption of which is to control society through sex and destroy family and, what follows, a latin civilisation. Gender ideology, also called a gender theory, is a multidimensional phenomenon shaped in the context of various socio-cultural events of the 20th century. Promoters of gender deny a human nature manifesting itself in womanhood and manhood and claim that gender is of a cultural character. Therefore it may undergo many changes throughout an entire life. What follows is that one can not support a marriage as a relationship of a man and a woman, whereas a family is nothing but „a relic of the past”. As the result of the said assumptions we can observe attempts to introduce “a dictatorship of relativism” and “copulative totalitarianism” in education of the young. When one wishes to defy this destructive ideology one has to show first of all that it is built on a serious anthropological mistake that denies the nature of a man, his dignity, the essence of a man and a woman as well as the nature of a family. The mistake was pointed at in 2004 by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in “A letter to the bishops of the Catholic Church in the collaboration of a man and a woman in the Church and in the world”. A Christian standpoint towards genderism is rooted in an anthropology that underlines a value of sexuality and its meaning, whereas ethics formulates and justifies bases of a proper attitude to riches included in human corporality. In order to show the importance of the quoted document in the field of defence of human identity and attempts to start a dialogue with all the people of good will the article describes major assumptions of genderism and vital elements of anthropology of a cultural gender.

Realisation of the Church in academic community as experienced in Graniczna Academic Pastoral Ministry Centre in Katowice
Summary
Academic pastoral ministry in Poland in its history executed various models and concepts and the resulting forms of activity. Currently the ministry faces new challenges due to skyrocketing civilisation transformation. Each academic pastoral ministry centre with its own characteristic features resulting from various conditions executes its own objectives. They must, however, result from basic objectives of academic pastoral ministry and at the same time be open for challenges of the contemporary world. Graniczna Academic Pastoral Ministry Centre at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Katowice executed its objectives on the basis of the ecclesiology of communion and the resulting pastoral strategy plan. The article presents the concept and the forms as well as the methods of operation implemented in the centre in 1991–2001. Many of the actions bore specific fruits, therefore in the era of the new evangelisation and calling for “the pastoral ministry of reformation” it is worthwhile to get acquainted with the concept and operations of this academic centre.

Liturgical music in view of documents of the Church
Summary
The Second Vatican Council initiated the process of the renewal of the liturgical music. It explained its task in the service for God and presented the principles of its renewal. This renewal was prepared by pioneers and promoters of the liturgical movement which existed from the second half of the 19th century. Sacrosanctum Concilium, the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, pointed that there is an inseparable connection between music and liturgy. Music was presented as an integral part of the solemn liturgy. Singing in liturgy is a form of active participation in liturgical celebrations. It is a form of the confession of faith and an element of deeper entering to the celebration of the mystery of salvation.
The principles of the Constitution define the stage of Church consciousness which inspired and started the era of the renewal of liturgy and church music. Among positive effects of the Council renewal of church music, apart from new liturgical books, there is the fact of existing choirs in Church, cantors and psalterists as well as the extension of music repertoire.
Music education of the clergy and the faithful is still an important task. Above all organists should be taught to organize the singing not to replace the participants of liturgical celebrations in singing.

DAS SCHULWESEN IN DER OPPELNER REGENTSCHAFT IM 19. JAHRHUNDERT
Die preußische Staatsmacht wurde gleich nach dem Anschluss Schlesiens 1763 auf die Schulen aufmerksam. Diese Aufmerksamkeit galt zuerst der Unterrichtssprache. Im Jahre 1763 wurde den Geistlichen und den Lehrern unter Strafe der Entlassung aus dem Posten befohlen, innerhalb eines Jahres deutsch zu lernen. 1765 wurde vom Abt von Zagan, J.I. Felbiger, eine neue Schulordnung vorbereitet. Sie führte die Schulpflicht für Kinder im Alter von 6 bis 13 ein. Die Kinder sollten das Lesen, Schreiben und Rechnen erlernen. Dieses Gesetz ordnete den Bau der Schulen auf dem Land, auch in den Dörfern, die keine Pfarrkirche hatten, die aber mehr als 4 Km von der nächsten Schule entfernt waren, an. Es sollten auch Seminare für Lehrer entstehen. Die Unterrichtssprache blieb polnisch. Die Schule blieb eine kirchliche Institution, der Staat behielt für sich die Mitaufsicht vor. Das neue Schulgesetz von 1801 veränderte weder den Charakter noch die Strukturen des Schulwesens. Die christliche Erziehung der Kinder blieb das Ziel der Schule. Wesentliche Veränderungen im Schulwesen kamen erst in der Zeit des Kulturkampfes. Die Aufsicht über die Schulen wurde den Staatsinspektoren übergeben. Nur die deutsche Sprache durfte im Unterricht verwendet werden. Die Schulpflicht wurde auf Kinder und Jugendliche von 4 bis 17 stufenweise ausgedehnt. Die Zahl der Schulgebäude stieg bedeutend: 1763 gab es im Oppelner Erzdiakonat 629 Pfarrschulen, 1911 gab es in der Oppelner Regentschaft (Erzdiakonat und einstiges Neisser Fürstentum, Kreis Kreuzburg und Dekanat Beuthen) 1589 Schulen und 6769 Lehrer. Die Kinder besuchten die Schulen wesentlich öfter. Dank den in der Oppelner Regentschaft bestehenden 13 Seminaren für Lehrer, waren diese besser ausgebildet.

MORALITY AND LIVING THROUGH A HISTORIC TIME
Summary
A human existence is inevitably inscribed in experiencing time. „For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven...” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Historicity of man and awareness of this historicity makes him special among the creation. The same applies to human morality.
Human morality, as the author assumes after Saint Augustine, is conditioned by the past, present but also the future of man (Confessions XI, 14,17). Experiencing a historic time can be seen in the so called cirmunstantiae vitae. They are decisive when it comes to quality of each „moral deed”. What is also at stake here, is the fact, that experiencing a historic time decides upon moral quality of human thoughts, deeds and lifestyles. There is no man outside time and history. The same applies to human morality. Moral „biographies” are always historic. It means that „times are as morality of men is like”: good or evil. This calls for responsibility for the gift of time.
A man is mortal (homo viator), but his earthly existence is a „preparation” and „introduction” to eternity. Hence responsibility for eternal salvation is the most important moral responsibility of every man.
In the second part of the paper the author claims, following Maurice Blondel, that „times in each generation are hard...”. Human morality therefore can be found „between heroism and bestiality...”.
It is not insignificant that history „may flow against the current of human conscience...”. This is the truth derived from poetry of young Karol Wojtyła by Karl Dedecius.
A man, each in his own way, experiences his time. One can live through one’s time in various ways: chaotically, confusedly and randomly, or very responsibly. „Time perspective” is another important factor for human consciousness. In „long -time perspective” for example one can see more clearly „quality” of human life. One has a better view on bygone phenomena and experience, since they are viewed as continuity „towards eternity”. Among multiplicity of historical phenomena one of the most pivotal ones are experience of failures, catastrophes, but also heroic deeds. It is said that „history is a teacher of life”, but it is also true that „there is few, who are able and willing to learn these lessons...”.
There is no human biographies „outside history”. This allows us to discover specific „strings of events”, but also lines of evangelical development, in spite of numerous weaknesses. Ultimately eternity awaits all of us. May God grant us all a happy one.

CATECHESIS INTRODUCING THE CHILD TO THE SACRAMENTS OF PENANCE AND OF THE EUCHARIST IN THE LIGHT OF THE POST-VATICAN II DOCUMENTS OF THE CHURCH
The reflection taken up in this article shows that the documents of the Church which have been published after the II Vatican Council are a rich source of information concerning the preparation of children to the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation and to the Sacrament of the Eucharist. In Church teaching after the Council we find not only indicated the content, which should be present in the preparation of children to Penance and the Eucharist, but also its forms and method. The documents of the Church generally outline a certain program or direction of sacramental formation, so the demands given need to be supplemented by a catechetical and pastoral reflection, which would lead to more detailed and practical suggetstions, possible to use in pastoral and catechetical ministry. Although each elaboration must take into consideration elements that are characteristic for the introdution formation of the child to the reality of Penance and the Eucharist, which - in accordance with requirements given in the Church documents after the Council - regard above all the following issues:
- the preparation of children to the Sacraments of Penance and of the Eucharist takes place through a number of stages, which can be called: far, close and direct;
- the formation of penance and eucharistic attitudes begins already in the first months and years of the children's lives, thus the important role of parents and family;
- in the process of introducing children to the reality of Penance and the Eucharist initiation catechesis has a principal role;
- on each of the stages of preparation one has to take into consideration the situation of the catechized, the level of personal development and family environment.
