CATECHESIS ABOUT CAIN’S SIN UPON PERISCOPE FROM GEN 4,1-16. Summary
Cain selfishly negated differentiation in the world, which was established by God. He lacked an appropriate relationship with himself. He didn’t overcome evil tendencies, didn’t gain control over sin and allowed himself to commit murder. Breaking our relationship with God leads to injustice in relations with others. Even after his sin, God attempts to re-establish dialogue with Cain, who however again turns out to be hardened toward God’s voice. For his sin he is cursed and outcast. God still promises him protection and places a mark upon him. Because He wants the conversion of the sinner more then his death. God gives him a chance for transformation.

JOHN PAUL II'S MORAL MESSAGE TO NURSES This paper is addressed to nurses and healthcare chaplains. It is an attempt to establish a moral message to nurses from John Paul II's teaching that was carried out during his Pon-tificate. Among the sources that contributed significantly to the shape of this work are: an encyclical Evangelium Vitae, an Apostolic Letter Salvifici Doloris as well as many ad-dresses and messages to healthcare professionals. The present synthesis introduces John Paul II as the one highlighting the dignity of nurses (he goes as far as to say that the nursing profession is a vocation) and as the person who constantly stimulated healthcare workers, nurses included, to the general approach to patients involving the spiritual dimension of a human being. John Paul II spoke out forcefully and frequently for the sanctity of the human life. He called on nurses to care for every single patient, especially for the one who is feeble, disabled, elderly or the one who is in persistent vegetative state (PVS). He also recalled repeatedly our fundamental right and duty to raise an objection against all the actions that threaten human life.

FAMILY AS COMMUNION OF LIFE AND LOVE IN THE HOME CHURCH OF LIGHT MOVEMEN. Summary Family in itself is the fulfilment of one of the most basic human needs, since a man in his ontological dimension is homo familiaris. It may serve its purpose due to the fact that it is a privileged place of realization of human love and at the same time a place opened to receiving life. Thanks to this family is able to fulfil the need of an emotional bond with one’s neighbours, mutual understanding, security, a desire to have children as well as religious needs, including initiation into mysteries of religious and ecclesial life. In order to meet these aims a family must become „a community of life and love” (KDK 48). The foundation of this community is a communion of spouses with God which in turn will manifest itself in communion between spouses and communion between parents and their children. This personal vision of marriage and a Christian family, based on the idea of father Franciszek Blachnicki, is the aim of the Home Church. For families participating in the movement a nuptial communion is the foundation of communion of the whole family, and from even broader perspective, an opportunity to build an ecclesial community. This is why a family can and should call itself a home Church. In view of the above the basic aspect of the charism of the Home Church was described as „the self-gift in a marriage and a family”. The basis of formation of a marriage and a family is a nuptial spirituality, which is aspiring to holiness together with one’s spouse. The nuptial communion is built through the so called obligations. They are as follows: daily private prayer, daily family prayer, monthly nuptial dialogue, the rule of life and participation, at least once a year, in a formation retreat. Thanks to implementation of these tasks spouses get closer to one another and to God. The obligations are met by a daily effort of spouses and mutual support of other married couples gathered in the circles of the Home Church.

EFFECTIVE EVANGELISATION EXEMPLIFIED IN LIFE AND ACTIVITY OF SAINT EUGENE DE MAZENOD (1782–1861)
Summary
In the post-synodal apostolic exhortation on the formation of priests in the circumstances of the present day Pastores dabo vobis, John Paul II described the new evangelisation as the most important and urgent task of the Church at the end of the second millennium. Therefore it calls for a new zeal, new methods of preaching and giving testimony to the Gospel”, and most of all a new involvement of priests. A priest who combined all these factors was Eugene de Mazenod, the founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The testimony of his life and activity, in spite of the time that had passed, may be very inspiring even today. First of all it is because the 19th century France is not that different from the contemporary Western civilisation, especially when we realise, that the ideology of the French Revolution is the source of many contemporary cultural trends. Second of all, it is because in his activity one can find all the conditions of the effective evangelisation: a personal experience of salvation, ability to assess reality from the Gospel point of view, an apostolic zeal as the manifestation and testimony to love and propagating the spirituality of communion. John Paul II himself was convinced about exceptional values of this saint and found in him the example and the advocate of evangelisation of our times.

Methodology of promoting the Spirituality of Communion in the Light of “Novo millennio ineunta” and the letter of John Paul II to priests for Holy Thursday 2005, “A Formula of Consecration: A ‘Formula of life’”
Summary
At the close of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 in his letter Novo millennio ineunte John Paul II pointed at pastoral priorities and paths to follow (compare: NMI 29-41) to make the Church the home and the school of communion. He issued a strong warning against the temptation of activism: “Before making prac-tical plans, we need to promote a spirituality of communion […]. Let us have no illusions: unless we follow this spiritual path, external structures of communion will serve very little purpose. They would become mechanisms without a soul, ‘masks’ of communion rather than its means of expression and growth” (NMI 43). It follows that promoting the spirituality of communion should be “the guiding principle of education wherever individuals and Christians are formed, wherev¬er ministers of the altar, consecrated persons, and pastoral workers are trained, wherever families and communities are being built up” (NMI 43). According to the pastoral priorities defined by the Pope, the perspective of sainthood can be related to the attitude of “believing”; the priority of prayer can be associated with “remembering”; the sacrament of reconciliation with “forgiving”; listening to the word of God with “receiving”; Eucharist with “giving thanks”; the priority of grace with “giving”; preaching the word of God with “going out”. Similarly, following the suggestion made by John Paul II, a tool to implement the spirituality of com¬munion can be “a formula of life” hidden in the words of the consecration: “to take bread in one’s hand” is to let the Holy Spirit lead us especially in prayer; “saying the blessing” means to listen; “broke” means to be purified; “giving bread away” means to evangelize; “this is my Body” means to create communion; “take this, all of you, and eat of it” means to spread mercy; “do this in memory of me” means to love by the love of Christ and in the power of the Spirit of God. Following the said attitudes, we have become promoters of the spirituality of communion on the basis of which we are able “to make the Church the home and the school of communion” (NMI 43).

THE CHURCH’S RESPONSE TO THE SIGNS OF THE CIVILIZATION OF DEATH IN THE BEGINNINGS OF THE HUMAN LIFE
Summary
Church – faithful to the mission commissioned by Christ – take successively the topics that appear throughout the history of mankind, which are the result of scientific development and progress of civilization, and increasing the possibility of interfering with the processes of life – from procreation, and the dying ending. Undoubtedly, the field of interference in human procreation is the one that because of the tremendous progres achieved and the personal good, especially endangered in its activities – requires special vigilance of the Church.
Therefore, in this publication is presented clear moral teaching of the Church concerning the abuses in the field of procreation. For the fundamental fraud, which became the subject of moral reflection should include: contraception, morning after pill, sterilization and abortion, in vitro fertilization and cloning.
It should be noted that all these issues related to human reproduction right contradict the Christian tradition for centuries, and above all the Church’s thought for contemporary view of marriage, family, sexuality and fertility. Break for inner unity, mutuality and the need for relationships between spouses, but also the relationships between parents and offspring. For this reason, must be evaluated negatively. These phenomena are in fact the opposite nature – sexuality without procreation on the one and procreation without sexuality on the other.
Keywords: abortion, church, cloning, contraception, in vitro fertilization, morning after pill, procreation, sterilization.

CULTURAL ACTIVITY IN THE CONTEXT OF FAMILY LIFE One of the most significant goals of community life and social development is creating and passing on cultural achievements to future generations (Christifideles laici, 44) which in turn makes human life better, both in terms the of individual and the community (Gaudium et spes, 53). The paper presents the results of surveys carried out in order to find the relations between cultural activity and family life, as well as local and parish community life. The project was conducted by the Silesian University and it was supported by the Regional Local Authorities of the Silesian Region. A group of 1030 women was chosen for the survey. Two extreme groups were selected: the first group featured low cultural activity whereas the second group had considerable cultural involvement. The results were compared regarding various aspects of family and community life. The results revealed that, in terms of the priesthood, there is a favorable correlation between cultural activity, family and community life. High cultural activity also improves family life satisfaction and the feeling of security among family members. However, the survey has also revealed that there can be a negative correlation between cultural activity and moral principles concerning marriage and love in the family. The survey results showed the negative influence of liberal ideology. Some liberal principles, such as tolerance, led to accepting uncritically any kinds of divergence including homosexual relations, abortion and divorce. It seems that culture in the broad meaning of the word, with all its aspects and the people involved in particular, lost its basic dimension and depth. This is contrary to John Paul II's preaching that moral principles are fundamental in any kind of cultural activity. The obtained results require further detailed research so that positive aspects and trends in contemporary culture can be examined and highlighted. A new approach to find ways of implementing and respecting moral principles regarding marriage and family should be looked for, since that is the only natural and indispensable environment for the development of any individual.
