Teaching religion as accompanying: from superficiality to spirituality to personal acquaintance with God Incarnate
Summary
According to the general understanding, accompanying involves first of all being in attendance, being with somebody, sharing the hardships of a journey, joys, but also difficulties, uncertainties, overcoming obstacles on the road together, defining the destination. If Religious Education wants to take on the function of accompanying children and the youth on the road to the contemporary Emmaus, then the fundamental condition is being in attendance and journey together. Therefore, the author of this article reflects upon the idea of the road to Emmaus and the role of school RE as accompanying youth leading from superficiality to spirituality to personal contact with God. Personal acquaintance with God incarnate assumes certain complementarity of God’s initiative and man’s action, cognition, conversion and trust. Thanks to His incarnation God has become audible and visible. Therefore, accompanying the pupil on the road to Emmaus should include both the verbal and visual processes starting from pupil’s inner chaos, his/her questions, problems, difficulties up to the spiritual sphere.

THE PRIEST AS A LEADER OF GOD’S PEOPLE.
Summary
The article deals with the role of leadership of the ordained priest. This funcion arises from Christ’s Priesthood, which obviously dierects the Church towards the Father. It happens mainly within liturgy, when a priest is a guide both in teaching and in selfoffering to the Father. An important role of a priest as a leader is to evoke in peoples’ hearts a desire for the Holy Spirit (epicletic attitude), who is the ultimate Guide leading to the full Truth. The priestly spirit of leadership is kerigmatic (proclamation of Good news) and mystagogical, because it initiates into the Mystery of salvation through activating peoples’ common priesthood.

DIE AUFNAHME DER PÄDAGOGISCHEN POSTULATE VON JOHANN FRIEDRICH HERBARTS IN DER ERZIEHUNGSSYSTEMATIK VON WALENTY GADOWSKI
Die sogenannte Münchner Methode hielt verhältnismäßig schnell auch in Polen Einzug, denn polnische Katecheten, darunter in besonderem Maß jene aus Galizien, nahmen rege und aktiv an den katechetischen Kursen und Kongressen in München wie auch in Wien teil. Polnische Katecheten, darunter insbesondere Walenty Gadowski, trugen wesentlich zur Vervollkommnung dieser Methode bei. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden Fragestellungen um Johann Friedrich Herbarts pädagogísche Forderungen erörtert, speziell in Bezug auf ihre Übernahme in die Erziehungssystematik von Gadowski. Dabei wird zunächst Walenty Gadowskis Einfluss auf die Ausgestaltung der Münchner Methode vorgestellt, anschließend werden die von J.F. Herbart aufgestellten Grundsätze in den pädagogisch-katechetischen Überlegungen Walenty Gadowskis kritisch hinterfragt.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE PROGRAMME OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION.
Summary
The article focuses on the programme for high schools. It consists of four parts. In the first part it draws attention to the existing relation between the knowledge of truths about the Holy Spirit and respect for the sacrament of Confirmation. In the second part – the presence of truths about the Holy Spirit are portrayed. The third part contains discussion of the truths present in the Programme. The theme of the fourth part is the next three truths that should be known by the students who are receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.

THE TEACHING OF RELIGION IN SCHOOLS AS PREPARATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO CONSTRUCTIVELY SOLVE PROBLEMS IN THEIR FUTURE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY.
Summary
Religious education faces various educational tasks at school. The tasks focus on teaching and integral upbringing. They involve further and closer preparation of the youth to married and family life. Conflicts in married and family life and developing appropriate skills seem an essential thematic category for religious education. This article is aimed at finding answers to the following questions: how are the problems related to conflicts in married and family life dealt with in religious education classes at school and how is the task of the preparation of the youth to constructive conflict solving in married and family life carried out. While answering these questions, the religious curriculum at upper secondary school, lower secondary school, and at professional schools are referred to. In order to better understand the issue and to show it in the context of social science, first conflicts in married and family life are presented from a psychological and pedagogical perspective. Next, religious education matters are shown. The analyses carried out here are of theoretical nature only. They are based on religious curriculums at various types of comprehensive, secondary and professional schools.

THE PERCEPTION OF A PRIEST AMONG SELECTED GROUPS OF CATECHIZED YOUTH (COMPARATIVE STUDY).
Summary
In the Year for Priests, it is the person of a priest that arouses the interest of theologians, sociologists and publicists. The following article aims to present the opinions of catechized youth from two randomly selected secondary schools (in Olsztyn and in Wodzisław Śląski). The data collected in diagnostic research have a preliminary diagnostic value since they only describe the tendencies related to the youth’s perception of the priest and attitudes to the tasks and function performed by the priest not only in the Church but also in teenagers’ lives. It was noted that opinions of respondents from Olsztyn and Wodzisław Śląski were fairly similar. Occasionally, different attitudes were observed but only in the case of some specific categories. The students’ answers were in line with the teachings of the Church. An influence of social opinion was also noticed.
The views on religious education proved surprising. Negative opinions prevailed; many students stressed that religious education did not reflect the truth about priestly vocation. Apart from that, regardless of the school type and place of residence, the students suggested that more discussions on priesthood be introduced, alongside with organizing meetings with priests and presenting audiovisual materials depicting priests devoted to God and man. Moreover, they expected testimony of faith on the part of priests and their readiness to serve and help other people.
