CENTUM ANNORUM DECANATUS MYSLOWICENSIS RESPECTU PATRIARUM ET SOCIABILIUM QUESTIONUM PROGRESSIONI INDUSTRIAE ADIUNCTARUM
Decanatus myslowicensis, maturius pars decahatus bytomiensis, erectus est die 28 augusti 1868 a. et complexus est huius temporis paroecias Bogucice, Chorzów, Dziećkowice, Katowice, Królewska Huta, Mysłowice et novoerectam paroeciam Roździeń scilicet Szopienice. Anno 1849 - iuxta annuarium dioecesis wratislawiensis - in illis paroeciis inter 41 266 catholicos habita ve runt 410 germani. Progressio industriae locorum postulavit amplificationem incolarum numeri, exstructionem novarum coloniarum, exaedificationemque villarum, quae adhuc fuerant. Lucrum operariorum metallorum et officinarum exiguum et insufficiens ad sustentationem familiae erat. Tempore discidii, quod vocatur "Kulturkampf", non tantum Ecclesia catholica sed etiam sermo riativus in nostra regione impugnati sunt et lingua polonica ex scholis et officiis exclusa in vita familiari et ecclesiis persevera vit. Qua de causa post mitigationem vocati "Kulturkampf" ex una parte multitudo hominum pugnavit, ut lingua vernácula in scholas et officia induceretur, ex altera parte gubernium prussicum omnes et omnia, quae polonice erat, persecutum est. Interim in crescentibus pagis forsique novae paroeciae et ecclesiae erectae sunt, nempe in Brzezinka, Dąb, Hajduki, Katowice - altera paroecia -, Królewska Huta - altera paroecia -, Lipine, Świętochłowice, Załęże. Anno 1908 immutatus decanatus myslowicensis continuit paroecias Brzezinka, Bogucice, Dąb, Dziećkowice, Katowice - duas paroecias -, Mysłowice, Szopienice, Załęże atque a decanatu bytomiensi disiunctas paroecias Michalkowice et Siemianowice, ad quas accessae sunt novoerectae paroeciae Mała Dąbrówka, Janów-Giszowiec, Siemianowice-secunda paroecia. Primo bello mundi finito et plebiscito peracto totus decanatus myslowicensis cum aliis partibus Silesiae Superioris ad republicam Poloniam adiunctus est et membrum per bullam "Vixdum Poloniae unitas" de die 28 octobris 1925 a. erectae dioecesis Katowicensis formavit. Sed iam tempore administrationis apostolicae transmutatio decanatus a. 1923 exsecuta est et separatis Katowice cum confinibus paroeciis permanebant Brzezinka, Dziećkowice, Janów, Mysłowice, et assignatae sunt decanatu myslowicensi Lędziny, Chełm, perinde novoerectae paroeciae Imielin, Krasowy, Nowy Bieruń, posterius Bojszowy et Brzęczkowice. Eo modo decanatus usque ad hoc tempus omnino industrialis immutatus est in decanatum maxima ex parte ruralem, qua de causa universa questus inopia paululum percepta erat. Annis occupations inter 22 sacerdotes decanatus quinqué in castris concentratis trucidati sunt. Post vacationem ab occupantibus centra curae anirnarum et novae ecclesiae in Hołdunów, Urbanowice, Giszowiec, Morgi, Wesoła conditae sunt. Nova temperatione a. 1955 peracta decanatus myslowicensis sequentes paroecias continebat: Brzezinka, Brzęczkowice, Chełm, Dziećkowice, Giszowiec, Imielin, Janów, Krasowy, Morgi, Mysłowice, Szopienice, Wesoła cum 35 sacerdotibus curam animarum agentibus et fere 110 000 catholicis. Die 19 iunii 1969 a. peracta est novissima dismembratio, qua secuta infra términos decantus remanent paroeciae: Brzezinka, Brzęczkowice, Dziećkowice, Krasowy, Morgi, Mysłowice, Wesoła, explentes decreta II Concilii Vaticani.

The Benefit of Studying History
Does the Silesian model of a priest exist? If so, what, and to what extent, affects its specificity: family environment, school, presbytery, parish, seminary? The author of the article by answering these questions draws attention to the historical factors preceding the establishment of the diocese of Katowice: religious, church, social and political ones which contributed to the specificity of a Silesian priest: rural and urban parish priest, churches builder, community worker, political and cultural activist, education officer.

DER SYNODALBESCHLUSS: ÖKUMENISMUS IN DER KIRCHE VON KATOWICE UND DIE ÖKUMENISCHE ENTWICKLUNG AUF DER GESAMTKIRCHLICHEN EBENE
Der Synodalbeschluss: Ökumenismus in der Kirche von Katowice besteht aus 5 Titeln: 1) Die theologische Aspekte des Aufrufes zum Ökumenismus, 2) Die ökumenische Situation in der Diözese, 3) Die Ausrichtung der ökumenischen Seelsorge und ihre Grundlagen, 4) Die kirchliche Hilfe für die Mischehen, 5) Normen für ökumenische Seelsorge. Es wurde auch eine Beilage über die Zeugen Jehovas hinzugefügt. Das Ziel des Dokuments besteht in der Eingliederung des Problems der Wiedervereinigung der Christen in die Seelsorge, und zwar als ihr ständiges Element. Da in der Diözese die Evangelisch-Augsburgische Kirche die zahlreichste ist, wurde das Dokument besonders auf Kontakte mit dieser Gemeinschaft abgestimmt. Es wurde empfohlen: gemeinsames Gebet, charitative Tätigkeit, Austausch biblischer, katechetischer, homiletischer Materialien, wie auch die Zulassung des evangelischen Gottesdienstes in katholische Kirchen, Kapellen und auf Friedhöfen dort, wo die evangelischen Gemeinden keine eigenen besitzen. Ferner wird gefordert eine Formation zur Versöhnung gemäss der Lehre des Vatikanum II. Besonders wichtig sind die Weisungen der Synode hinsichtlich der Mischehen, den schon das Vatikanum II und letztens auch die Bischofssynode viel Aufmerksamkeit schenkten. Der Synodalbeschluss nimmt Abstand von der Ansicht, Mischehe sei ein "malum necessarium" und betrachtet sie vielmehr als eine Chance den Gläubigen die ökumenische Problematik näher zu bringen und sie Achtung für das Bekenntnis des andersgläubigen Gatten zu lehren. Es empfiehlt die Aufrechterhaltung und Vertiefung der Bindung an die eigene Kirche beider andersgläubigen Gatten und lässt zu die Möglichkeit die bisherige Frage bezüglich der katholischen Erziehung der Kinder mit einer neuen Form zu ersetzen: "Versprechen sie die Kinder im Geiste des Evangeliums zu erziehen"? Das Dokument legt auch besonderen Wert auf das Zeugnis des christlichen Lebens und besonders auf die Bereitschaft den getrennten Brüdern in verschiedenen Nöten Hilfe zu leisten. Alle Bestimmungen des Dokuments liegen völlig in den Richtlinien des Vatikanum II, hinsichtlich der Mischehen kann man sogar von einem gewissen Vorsprung sprechen.

A retired rector. Chosen psychosocial aspects in the light of theories and interviews
The article enlightens the psycho-social problems of the adaptation of catholic priests to their retirement according to gerontological theories and indepth interviews conducted among some of them in the area of the Katowice and Częstochowa Archdiocese. In the theoretical part of the text sociological concepts of isolation of retirees and its prevention have been presented. These theoretical perspectives are the background for the illustration of adaptive strategies applied by researched priests. The strategies have been shown on the example of those who live in the parishes, private houses mostly inherited after parents likewise The Home for Retired Priests in Katowice and in Częstochowa. The research has been conducted within the project, financed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2009–2011).

THE PARTICIPATION OF THE SILESIAN CLERGY IN NATIONAL AND POLITICAL LIFE OF THE UND REPUBLIC OF POLAND
Summary
In a difficult period of struggle for borders, uniting of the Polish lands and formation of the rehearing country the Silesian clergy fulfilled its role very well. The priests, who engaged on Polish side met with vexations and became victims of terror. The Silesian priests' national and political activity was appreciated with their election to the Seym and Senate of the Republic of Poland, the Silesian Seym and Silesian Voivode's Counsil in Katowice. The priests were looking also for suitable for them a political organisation. They wished, they worked for such an organisation which the best met the requirements of the Church. It was - according to them - the National Democracy or the Christian Democracy. The society noticed the clergy's merits rendering for building the independence of Poland and consolidation of its existence. The distinguishing priests were conferred national awards and honorary citizenship of the Silesian cities.hon

Don Michał Kostoń - tentativi di reclutamento. Sommario
Il reclutamento dei collaboratori per gli organi di sicurezza negli anni del regime comunista (1944–1989) e diventato oggetto di numerose pubblicazioni. Sebbene i mezzi di comunicazione di massa siano particolarmente interessati alle questioni riguardanti gli informatori degli organi di sicurezza, reclutati tra i sacerdoti, religiosi e seminaristi, sono tuttavia sempre necessari gli studi delle testimonianze dirette sul reclutamento e le analisi critiche degli archivi della polizia segreta. L’articolo e dedicato al caso riguardante un alunno del seminario maggiore della diocesi di Katowice. Il materiale viene esaminato alla luce dei dati sul modo di operare dei servizi segreti contro la Chiesa cattolica in Polonia e, in particolare, sui loro criteri della scelta del candidati alla collaborazione e sulle operazioni intraprese prima di entrare nel seminario, durante il servizio militare di leva e nel periodo degli studi nel sacerdozio. Al testo sono allegate le lettere del seminarista che in quel tempo informavano le autorita del seminario sui tentativi intrapresi da parte dei servizi del regime comunista.

The Rev. Teodor Kremski (1829-1906)
There are not many remains in human memory and in the historic sources about the life of the rev. Teodor Kremski (1829-1906), despite that he had great influence on the religious life of people living in Katowice, Rybnik and Jankowice Rybnickie in the second half of 19th and in the beginning of the 20th century. The rev. Teodor Kremski was one of the most interesting figures in the Silesian clergy at that time. He studied law in Wrocław, Bonn and Berlin and promised to be a good lawyer. But he gave it up in favor of the priesthood. He graduated in theology at Wrocław University and took the cure of souls in Bujaków and Opole parishes. He was the first parish-priest in Katowice as the city, and the builder of the St. Mary’s Church in Katowice. At that time he felt ill, and looking for therapy he traveled even to the Orient. After that he settled in the convent of the congregation of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate (AM) in Poręba, where his voice recovered by miracle. Then he became the chaplain in St. Julius’ hospital in Rybnik. He stayed there for 34 years serving the ill and the poor during days and nights and he gave away all his personal property. He died of heart attack while he was bringing solace to the dying person.
